Reliable sources in Jowhar confirmed that Islamists imposed duty on business sections sparking difficulties including the death of one while more than one hundred angry residents have been arrested.

Mohamed Dhere, one of the secular warlords controlled the Town but Islamic courts have taken it after heavy fighting which left 37 people dead on June 14th 2006.

Nur Ahemd Bukari, a local eye witness in Jowhar confirmed one person has been shot on the head after angry people gathered out in the market place protesting against new law on taxes imposed by the Islamists after Mohamed Dhere's rule.

"People most of them business individuals shouted and protested high rate taxes saying the rate is unbearable" he said. "We cannot say they are quite different than former warlord because they are killing people" one angry resident said through the phone.

Islamic militias opened fire on the air to disperse gatherings but unfortunately one of the bullets hit a person killing him on the spot.

Sheik Osman Mohamed, the interim chairman of the local administrative committee in Jowhar said that members in the taxes collecting section have been obstructed from implying duties after starting their work.

"We know this incident is planed by the Enemies of the Islamists but we will get them soon" he told local radio Channel.

"Our team has been insulted before starting work at the market and violent demonstration has been staged", he added. "Imposing laws on taxes by this time by the Islamists causes could result grave result because people cannot afford paying it" Mohamed Rashiid, a local resident said.

It's the first time that Islamists impose duties at the places they took control including the Capital.
